The Memorex Commuter Computer. Yeah another DOS-based palmtop and this one comes from Memorex, a company you prolly know rather from storage products like CD-R and stuff. Definitely a cool one due to the full sized parallel and serial ports, but big drawback is the slow performance and tiny RAM (640 KB). Released in 1991-1992 for a list price of 649 USD. CGA monochrome 640×200 LCD display which refreshes a bit faster than the one of the Highscreen handy organizer. Takes 4 AA-Batteries and besides the typical suspend button it also has a REAL power switch which physically disconnects the machine from batteries. Very cool if you don’t use the machines for a few weeks – while all others drained their batteries to hold the memory contents this one lasts like forever.
An OEM Version was sold in Germany branded “ASI Pocket Personal computer”, but the one you see in the video is the original one released by Memorex.

Rateing: 8.5/10
Pros: Very sleek, beautiful, and cool design. Lightweight. compact. Big and easy to use qwerty key board. 3.2 Megapixel camera/camcorder. Easy for messaging. Touch panel on outside of the phone.
Cons: Can’t text with front touch panel. No color screen on external screen. Slow internet browsing. 2.8 MM headphone jack.
Price: $80.00 with a 2 Year Contract From Sprint.
